Our Daily Routine
We believe that a consistent yet flexible routine helps children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. Below is an overview of a typical day in our nursery:
-
Welcome Time
A member of staff will greet your child at the nursery door, helping them settle in for the day ahead. -
Class Register & Child-Initiated Play
Children begin their day with self-chosen activities that support independence, creativity, and exploration. -
Adult-Led Learning Activities
Structured sessions focus on early Phonics, Maths, or Literacy, tailored to your child’s developmental stage. -
Free-Flow Play & Key Person Time
Children continue learning through play, indoors and outside. This includes one-to-one or small group time with their Key Person to support personal learning goals. -
Snack Time
We provide a healthy snack, with a choice of fruits or vegetables and milk or water. -
Further Adult-Led Activities
Children take part in a second focused session of Phonics, Maths, or Literacy, depending on the day’s learning focus. -
Story Time & Songs
We come together as a group to enjoy stories, rhymes, and songs — a lovely way to wind down and build language skills. -
Home Time
Children are safely handed over to their parent or carer at the end of the session.
Free-Flow Learning Environment
We operate a free-flow provision, meaning children have access to all areas of the nursery for much of the day. Our outdoor area is used daily, in all weather conditions, to support physical development and outdoor learning.
Please ensure your child comes to nursery with appropriate clothing for the season (e.g. raincoats, wellies, hats, or sun cream).
