ADMISSIONS (Nursery)
Admissions into the Nursery Class:
Most three year olds are able to enjoy three terms of nursery education at McMillan.
Children attend every morning or afternoon for five days of the week, or in certain circumstances the equivalent of 5 sessions a week.
Our admissions policy is designed to be clear, inclusive, and fair. We warmly welcome children and staff from all ethnic backgrounds, religions, genders, and those with additional needs. Our aim is to create a supportive environment where every child can thrive.
However, we reserve the right to decline or defer admission if we believe that doing so is necessary to protect the safety, wellbeing, or developmental needs of your child or others in our care. Any such decision would be made with careful consideration and transparency.
If demand for places exceeds our available capacity, we follow Local Authority guidelines when prioritising admissions. These typically include:
-
The distance from the child’s home to the nursery (measured in a straight line)
-
Whether the child has a sibling currently attending the nursery
30 Hour Funded places
Working parents accessing a part-time educational place at our Centre may be eligible for an additional 15 hours of care if spaces are available. Parents will be required to provide us with a 30 hour funding code issued by HMRC. For more information regarding 30 hours funding please click here.
